So who's all going? It's just a few weeks away on Nov. 6,7,8...I remember last year before someone posted a thread about it some people forgot or didn't know. I have tons of pics from last year, but I cant post maybe someone else can. It was really fun last year which is why I'm making the 6.5 hour trip down from school this year.

Hi ya nik, I am from Carlsbad N.M. used to live in San Diego while serving in the Navy. I would love to go back to the Cali desert but this year is no good. I used to wheel my 86 Ranger in Ocotillo Wells back in the early 90's. I am planning to be there next year. I will be in Las Cruces, New Mexico Halloween weekend (the weekend before Bronco Daze) and thought about leaving there and going to Bronco Daze but I just can't miss that much work right now. Plus I am taking college classes. I hope everyone has a great time and plan on seeing you next year.

I'll be there with all the "Bells and Whistles" ----- I'm even bringing the motorhome this year. I've even been working on the Bronco to prep for the event. Fuel systems, wiring, steering ---- the works.

Gary Gayda is Hosting the event this year so I have more time to work on my runs.

Hope to see everyone out there !!!!!!!

p.s. --- oh -- and remember that October 23rd is the "On Line" cut off for registration to guarantee a shirt and plaque for the event. We will also have "On site" registration if you miss the deadline.

I'll be leading a great run on Friday to "Diablo Dropoff" and through Split Mountain and Fish Creek. Besides "Sandstone Canyon" I'll try to fit in the "Mud Caves". Sandstone Canyon is a Box Canyon which has high walls and "Wind Caves" at the end to hike and see. Lots of "Fun Factor" in this run.
You'll need to be there Friday for a 9AM (approx.) to depart from Palm Canyon.

Saturday I'm taking everyone out to the usual Truckhaven area. This should be a "Mild to Wild" trip as usual. This year I'll try to find the "Fire Plug", the "Phone Booth" and the all important "Arches" and get pictures of everyone under the arches.

Again --- don't miss the fun and hope to see ya all there

Hey now !!! I'm not that bad !!!!!

Truth is, Saturdays run is the Hard run for me. Fridays run will be more mild and new for everyone. I haven't been to "Diablo Dropoff" in a couple of years. It could be easy or rough. We can also let people drive up the Dropoff for extra points.

The dropoff is a piece of cake these days. It still has some pretty deep moguls near the top and the long sandy climb leading up, but over the years more of the sand has been pushed down to un-steepen it some and the moguls worn down some. Just about any rig can make it with judicious application of throttle. Ben you might be thinking of heart attack hill, which is over closer to the squeeze. Diablo Dropoff is after you turn up out of Fish Creek to head toward the mud caves and Carrizo Badlands. Hey Rob don't get everybody lost in the swamp looking for the Carrizo stage station! (BTDT).

Dusty is correct ! --- Diablo Dropoff is not in the "Pinyon Mountain" area trail, although both eventually lead down to "Fish Creek". From (Month to Month) trails change with rain and wind. This is why is could be a Mister Toads wild ride @ the Dropoff or a friendly steep down hill run. For a Medium run on Friday, this should be fun and challenging for the rigs along with the Box Canyon.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been in and out of town (San Luis Obispo) for business.

p.s. ---- Anyone up for "Pismo Beach" sometime ???? Just drove by it !! (Looks awful inviting)

I just registered last night. Wasn't sure I would be able to make it. I thought there might be more people from this site going. I know of one other bronco from Arizona that is going to make the trip as well. I have never been to this event, but it looks and sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait to get there.
