Does anyone have they stereo speakers back in there? How does it sound there? What size speakers? Did you make your own interior panels or cut OEM ones? Can you show some pictures?
Cheers

I thought speakers were just for looks. You are supposed to hear them with the engine running? I put 6x9 in my boxes as shown.

msweb is currently completing design for abs interior panels. Pretty cheap and looks very nicely built. I've already said I will buy a set once he is satisfied with them. Do a search for abs interior panels and it should turn up.
I plan to put speakers in mine as well and cover them with two tone vinyl.

I must be crazy because that looks like a 4x10 and not a 6x9.

I have a pair of 6x9 mounted on Diamond Plate panels. They sounds pretty good, but I also have a nice big amp driving them. They don't have a lot of bass but that is because I did not create any type of box inside that area.

I agree, they look like 4x10 speakers to me.

On another note I am finishing up my speaker plates for the rear. There will be a 6x9 on each side. Its just going to be a steel plate that has been sprayed with Line-X to match eveything else. Once its finished I 'll send you photos and let you know how it sounds.

I mounted two Sony Xplod 6 x 9s behind each seat and I can listen to a CD or the radio at freeway speed no problem. I have to 5 and 1/4s in my front custom console too.

I built speaker boxes for my excelon 6 inchers and mounted them on top of the wheel wells, pointed towards the front. They are only powered by my deck and they sound great even on the freeway and I have the door inserts (no doors). You can get creative back there...I guess mine isnt a very clean look but I like them and hell, I made a drink holder on top of them too for some road sodas.

Here are mine. I made them out of 1/4" luan/ wood. Covered them with thin foam padding and added some remnant vinyle from a local upholstry shop. Probably have 30 bucks in them. They do well.

just as a side note, if the speaker is performing to the max back there you can always add those foam surrounds which goes behind the speaker to create a pseudo enclosure. They can be had just about anywhere, I think Crutchfield offers them, and do alot to improve how any speaker sounds, especially if placed in a hollow area which has a large volume of air space behind the speaker.

Run 6 X 9's also. Just in front of the wheel wells. Installed them without boxes, just flush in the side panels.
