Spraying raptor liner when only 50 degrees out side.

I was hoping to use the last warm weekend (in Michigan standards) to shoot some epoxy primer and raptor liner on the bronco this weekend. The tech sheet says ideal temp is 68 degrees. Any idea if this stuff is OK to shoot with 50 degree temps. Dont want to spend a bunch of time and money to have it not turn out.

50 during the day but what temp at night?

I'd probably wait unless you have a way to keep the temps up in a garage.

Says 45 degrees over night but following days after that it will be quite cold.

Get some propane heaters and make sure you ventilate (leave garage door cracked). That is what I use to do when I worked on my bronco in the winter. Not the smartest thing to do, but it did work. Ventilation is key though.

You have to keep in mind those are metal temperatures, not air temp. The chemical reaction is what sets the guidelines. Different reducer's are used with paints to control the reaction for different temps. I don't know off anyway to control the mix properly with Raptorliner. Coolest I've shot anything was 55* metal temp and I considered that taking a chance. Too much work if something goes wrong.

I would go to the rental yard and rent a torpedo type propane heater and get it done. Remember to shut off the heater while you spray (off ! not to pilot) otherwise what are you going to do, wait until next May. Epoxy primer sets quick and bed liner with a catylist sets even quicker. Get your prep work done and mask everything at the end of the day rent your heater. Next morning fire up the heater and by noon should be warm enough to spray. shut off the heater and geter done. button everything up and take the heater back. Just remember go over your tape edges just before you spray as warming up the metal can loosen the tape up. I would not fire up the heater after spraying.

This is assuming your even using a garage.
