Anyone sprayed color match bedliner on body panels. How does the color hold up and can it be thinned out a bit to blend a little better with the smooth paint?
I have seen on newer cars and trucks there is a rough material(not sure I know the technical name) but it is meant for what you are talking about. Here is a picture of it on a 2016 GMC.
Hard to see but it is applied any where rock chips are going to happen.
Raptor liner is what I used you get white and add paint color to bottle doesn't turn out that glossy I'll get pics think you want chip guard under paint
This is raptor liner I'm originally from south Florida and I had the raptor liner for 4 years no fading or loss of semi gloss finish on outer body doesn't scratch or fade paint gets mixed with liner so the liner will be the same color all the way through. Texture is a adjustable with pressure and distance comes with spray gun.1st pic is grill painted 2011 Florida Sun not garage kept driven daily never faded
