You weld really well Brother.
I can lay a nice bead but can't lay them "that" long and "that" nice.
I bet it will be uber strong. Fab up some good deep mounts.

Looking good Rastiss. I wish I had added an extra frame mounts when I ordered mine. Maybe vertically along the inside or outside of the frame rails.

Looking good..

Are you going to lay a bead on the outside as well, then grind it down or something? Also, are you using any kind of special plasma guide or just straight edge?

Stacking dimes with a MIG is always my goal. Not quite TIG quality stuff.....but I'm pretty proud...it took me quite a while to figure out the angles....

Straight edge with my plasma. Already did the outside welds and ground them to a nice radius like my Logan's on the frt. Building this makes me appreciate the quality job they did.

Yeah that's how I did my rear one as well. I think these big bumper manufactures huge gigantic press brakes to simply stamp out pre-bend bumper shells that require no welding at every corner.. Must be nice. When I build my front I'm going to try and score the 1/4" plate on one side and bend using my shop press. Once bent I'll lay a bead on the inside but the outside should continue as a single piece of steel. Worth a shot at least...

I'm out of mig gas so I gotta go swap it out today. I've been putting building this off for a year. I've changed my mind so many times as to how it wanted to build it. So far I've spent $92 on steel for it.

Looking good!

You going to build a tire carrier for it as well?

Don't forget the shackle mounts... ;)

My hinge for the tire carrier....had to turn the shaft down about .003" and it's a great fit. Didn't see the need for the bearing stuff.

My latch should be here tomorrow. Those clevis mounts were a pain in the butt to make. Had a hard time cutting. And drilling a 1" hole in it sucked too.
