Steering Stabilizer Mount

Looking at adding a new steering stabilizer for the Bronco and was thinking about mounting it like pictured. I'd have a tube clamp on one side and then a shock bracket installed through an existing welded tab that was for an old dual shock setup. Are any issues seen or suggestions with this setup?

Looks clean. Slight loss of efficiency as there are a couple more bushings between the action and the steering box the damper is trying to protect. Nice way to recycle the old dual shock mount. No issues with interference as the suspension and steering cycle?

I was just looking at the pictures again and saw that it was a photoshop job. I would strongly suggest taking the front springs out and jack the axle up while cycling the steering lock to lock checking for clearance issues. I suspect you will find some.

Thank you, I’ll give that a shot and see what I find.

Hi, where is your trac bar? is it sitting perfectly behind the drag link? I'm just not seeing it. Good luck

So perfectly aligned that it looks like a shadow in the first pic. Good job.

Looks great.
I assume this is not some fancy uber-duber-super stiff shock, correct? Reason I ask is that with enough sideways force you can literally push the radius arm off the axle wedges.
I doubt a mere steering stabilizer would do it, but a trackbar mounted to it will certainly push the radius arm off if ridden hard.
But that's why I asked about how stiff it is.

With the poly bushings and their surrounding lip/shoulders locating things and heavy clamping force squeeze on the caps there is a lot of anchor strength, so a stabilizer is never likely to push hard enough.
But maybe down the road if you notice the shoulders cracking with age, that would be a good excuse to get new C-bushings.;D

Its the universal mount stabilizer and I dropped the psi down to 25 via the shrader valve. I have brand new c-bushings so hopefully, I'm good.

I really like this. I've been researching a similar setup but was having a hard time finding a tube clamp (with tap) that would fit the JD steering. The only thing I'm indifferent about w/ this setup is the rotated angle of your tie rod.

I was trying to figure out if I would have enough room to run a Ruff Stuff diff cover.
