I went 1.5" forward with no other mods. Springs bow a little but not bad. I could re-drill the cups but I'm lazy.
If you push the F150 box farther forward you're gonna be into the front body mount.
I also pushed the rear back 2" at the same time as my shackle flip. No other bods necessary there either.

I had a 4 inch bow in my coils for 1 run because my air shocks did not get here in time ;D. Coils can take a lot of abuse.

Can you really go 6" back by doing different leaf springs? Do the F-150 springs used to move the back 6" effect the flex of the rear? I would imagine that the longer springs flex better, but aren't they designed for higher load... therefore stiffer and less likley to flex? What about the rear cross member? How far can you go without hitting that??

It's more than just the springs being longer. at least for the 150 springs, the axle does not mount to the center of the spring. So reversing the springs can add quite a bit. I haven't measured mine yet, but either 5" or 6" was the number I was told for this mod.

In terms of load carrying. Longer springs are supposed to give a better ride for the same load carrying capacity. So you get more flex and more load carrying, but the rear shouldn't be jarringly stiff.

...so doing the F-150 spring swap means you will also have to move the crossmember and gas tank???
