Any tricks other than an easy out to get stuck jets out of a carb? All 4 of mine are stuck (Edelbrock 1404) along with the brass seats.

Here's a trick I found on the internet. Take a T15 torx bit, tap it into the jet. Use a 1/4" socket and ratchet to remove the jet. Works like a charm. This was also from an Edelbrock carb.

Guess I have some pretty stuck jets. I tried the trick with the T15 bit and none of them turned. They felt like they were going to and then the bit broke free. I filled the bowl or whatever you call the fuel trough on an edelbrock with PB blaster to cover all 4 jets. We'll give it another shot tomorrow

I'm probably going to wind up doing that. I didn't have one small enough which is why I asked about "other tricks."

Post up what works.

I've always drilled them out enought to use EZ outs.

Getting my butt kicked, thinking I might just drill them out and retap them. My new easy out bit twisted and then tore out of the hole

Try tightening them just a little before loosening them, sometimes that breaks a nut free.

I'm beyond being able to do that unfortunately. I either throw more time, maybe a different easy out, a set of jets and a rebuild kit at it or I replace the carb. I'm starting to lean towards another Edelbrock and just keep this one for parts. Insane to me that not one of these brass jets would break free with heat, pb blast, or an ez out...

If you have AeroKroil, and you’re willing to try ONE more thing and have the time, s.
soak it with the AeroKroil and after a day or two put the ease out in and heat it up, it should come out. That’s how I had to get the screws out of the rear of the fenders at the A pillar.

I have more questions than answers.
I don't know how you applied heat, hopefully a heat gun.

For direct heat get a 4-5" bolt and heat it up close to red hot. Touch it to the jet and hold for a few, then on to the next jet. Let them cool down. The heat-cool cycle should help break loose whatever is holding the jets. Works on loctite as well. Repeat if needed.

You still have options, don't give up yet.

I was not very clear about how I heated. When I put the ease out in the soaking jet, I heated the ease out (end not in jet) with a butane torch and when the AeroKroil began to smoke, stop heating and begin turning the ease out. If it doesn’t come out then…that’s usually worked for me but not a guarantee.

I had a small amount of success, got the seats out with an ez out, both of them broke off at the slot for the screw driver.

One jet galled out and then I moved to another after applying some heat with a heat gun, the ez out snapped off in the jet. I about picked the carb up and threw it. I'm trying to convince myself to keep trying, but at the same time it might also be nice to jump up to a 600CFM edelbrock since 500CFM parts are getting kind of hard to find (almost none of them in stock at Edelbrock).

I could go back to a Holley, but I've had really good luck up (5 years) until now with the Edelbrock.

I know it may be impossible now that you have an easy out stuck in there, but I have drilled these things out by gradually increasing drill size until you're just below cutting into the threads. At that point you can tap the edge of the jet with a punch and get it to release.

Pulled the trigger on a used 600cfm edelbrock so I can get back on the road for the Broncos on the Beach event next weekend. I may try again later to get the jets out of the 500.
