Did an f 150 knuckle / disk brake swap on my 71 this week. All went well, no real problems. I had done a hydro boost install some time ago. Problem was with disk in the back and drum in the front the brakes were way too touchy. The f 150 swap fixed all that. I was surprised that the bronco gave me little resistance, you know how they can be. So I decided to push my luck and replace the electric fuel pump. It was working but whining pretty loud. It was annoying and a bit embarrassing when the pump is louder that the engine. Got a pump and replaced it, turned the key and gas is spraying out of the side if the pump. bad pump right out of the box. Went and exchanged for a new one, Nope did not have one. Asked if they had any other brands. The guys are kind of lost when you don't give them a make and model. "Just look for any external mount EFI pump Please." Guy comes back with another pump. Its a little different but it will work. Exchange pumps, I get 5 bucks back. Go home and install the pump. All is good. Drove the bronco around the backroads for a while. Everything is good. Brakes are great and the pump is quite. Something is bound to happen. This is above my average.

Have fun guys.

your luck is as bad as mine seems like. went to put new front brake lines on. caliper banjo bolts wouldn't stop leaking, finally added two copper washers (caliper side) and a quart of brake fluid%). this was already after I broke two banjo bolts:-[

no real comment or contribution to this thread other than to say that, between the first three posters, getting close to almost a HUNDRED THOUSAND posts between them. That is impressive. That's why I love this forum, a lot of knowledge from the people on here!

The longer you own it the easier swaps get. You finally reach the point of having replaced every rusty old nut or bolt on the bronco. Then you have less crap snapping and uncovering more things needing repair.

This could be epic again ....

whats you planed rout and timeline ?

Not suer Franko. I now have the overdrive 4r70w in the bronco. "thanks Pal"
so I can run the interstate if I have to. But I would rather do the back roads. I like looking at this great country. I will have to sit down and map it out. Still don't have a place to stay nailed down yet. But I'm not worrying about that yet. Could just put it on the trailer and bring it and my sweetie cakes. Do as many event runs as I can get in. Also I don't think it gets more action packed than the last attempt.

There were two paths to take I stopped blocking the easy one. You took the hard one. I was setting you up. Hell yes I had to pull you out. My wife still gives me shit for that. I still think it was funny. But you went in the frog pond all by yourself.

I will make a route suggestion, I did this route years ago by motorcycle, backroads, most of the way was multi lane but not interstate, just well maintained roads that go through the country. Just plan your fuel stops, lots of little places closed and gone but it was quiet, pretty and not pressing. From Lake City FL, US 441N to Nantahala Nat'l Forrest, US64W to US74W to US411N on into Maryville. You may already be aware of this route but it was a great ride. Last time I did this route was when that huge fire in GA was burning back in 2007.
