There a couple of us planning on going to Winrock on Monday and Tuesday.... One has been there once, they are all very capable rigs. The more the merrier especially if ones a tour guide.

Just how capable of a rig is needed ?

I think my reservations start Tuesday or maybe even Wednesday evening, but I was planning to take the week off. If I have my crawler trail ready, I would love to tag along!

Good question !! It all depends on the group we get. The two I know for sure that's coming are on 40's and tons. That doesn't mean we have to do all extreme trails either though… Most of us are up for just about anything, as long as we are not at work!

I had not looked at the full week agenda before starting to cobble my plans together and planned on rolling in Thursday. I'm starting to think of maybe heading straight to Windrock Monday or Tuesday if a group is going to hit it up then and slide back down to Townsend a little earlier.....might as well make a week of it like Franko's suggesting!! .........Now how am I going to 'splain this one to my wife?!?!? "Babydoll, remember how I was saying that the kids wouldn't really miss much being out of school for 2 days......and remember the MEB roundup has been moved to the last week of school so that might be an issue now....and it IS the 50th anniversary!! I mean 2 days 2 weeks what's the difference, uhh? Kids, what do you think? I mean school or Broncos. Help me out here!!"

Biff ... I am driving up Fri 01-08-16 .... (I could make time for windrock ) ... the plan was to fly in the girls on Thursday(its super cheap from SwFL to Knoxville ) . Showing them yesterday the new itinerary for the gathering ...they are now looking into flying in on Tuesday after school !
whats the diff. missing 2 or 5 days ! with all the things to see at the gathering, in and around Gatlinburg / rod run they are learning more that week from being w. me then sitting in school !
flying them in is something we bin doing now the last 3 years .... booking them underage tickets works fantastic !!! once at the airport they get special escorts to and from the plane / designated seats next to one the flight intended right behind the cockpit / front exit door !

the biggest thing in years past was that we told them they are not allowed to post anything on any social media sights about it and once back not to tell any school friends about it !

I'm not coming close to thinking we are going to see half or a third of it. Just to get a good taste in my mouth to want to return in the fall for Suzy's event.

Copy. The younger brothers and sisters that ratted out used to always mean you had to pay the piper. And the uncle up the road would really blow the cover.

After being around SpareParts and his family at OCBR............I'm thinking his kids are way less likely to get in trouble than SpareParts himself lol :)
