Some (most? All?) efi systems need power in crank and run. Migs’ solution is what I did and it has been fine. It solved the not-insignificant problem of not starting.
If the wire to the unit really just triggers another internal relay in the sniper it would probably Work fine to just connect the wires. But having two relays works fine too. Yes, it’s one more thing to go wrong but they’re easy to check and replace. Just carry a spare.
