I purchased this tach a while ago, all the threads I've been able to find deal with 3 & 4 wire hook ups. Anyone have any idea how this tach can be hooked up in a stock 73. Here are couple of pictures of the tach. Thanks.

Is it a metal case? I would venture to say that the tach body would have to be grounded, the black wire, if it's going to a lamp, would be wired to the dash lights and the red (sensing?) wire to the negative (distributor) side of the coil. ------------Hans

I agree, and that screw on the back is to adjust for 4, 6 or 8 cyl operation. Nice vintage look.

My old boss had an old cabover (F600?) stake bed truck with a 428 FE in it and it had this cool tach with the Ford Cobra (snake) logo on it mounted to the dash. Man I wanted that thing for my Bronco:mad: He was a real Ford guy......the other one had a 429 in it and one of the service trucks had a 428 SCJ with a Holley DP'er and a Spearco water injection set up.....okay, who remembers those;) ---------Hans

Here is the tach mount that came with unit, pretty standard, I think.
Good idea on the billet mount however I'm toying with the idea of hanging it underneath the dash in between wheel and driver's door. Other than the obvious of being out of the sight line and banging your knee on it,think it would work? Can't really check clearance yet as the truck is in storage for the next 6 weeks. I appreciate everyone's input.
