taking a 66 back to original

Hey all,

I'm laying the ground work for a back to stock build. I am looking for advice on the original color schemes. (dash, bumpers, grill, upholstery, etc)

The factory color was holly green and I intend to go back to that. Although the sea foam green from The early 70's looks rad!

Anyway. I just didn't know if there is a way to determine what the factory details were.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks, Jeremy

Holly Green is a great color. The VIN tag will not tell you the other colors, but this
wonderful site will. Do a search on 1966 Colors and you should find quite a few
threads with lots of info. The dash is Bronco Grey, bumpers and grille are Wimbledon White, and upholstery is silver vinyl. Have fun!

66s all had a grey dash & door panels, with a silver vinyl interior. 66's are made up of some very unique pieces, depending on when they were built. Your VIN will tell you the month of production. I'm starting a 66 resto now, and realizing what a strange monster my 66 is. It would be much easier to restore a later year model, but there isn't a lot of market for restos unless its a 66.

It's hard to get the details on exactly what options the truck had, as there are no Marti reports available for 66's.
