Two new interior upgrades. I bought the front Tom's Premium Seats and I also got molded vinyl flooring from Stock Interiors. I still need to do some fine trimming on the flooring, but happy with it so far. The front had carpet pad, the rear did not, so I picked up some carpet padding from Home Depot and put some down. Along with the sound deadening, the flooring and the pad, the ride is much more quiet. Seats are really nice. They sit lower than stock and the brackets lined up with stock holes. I've got that new car smell right now.

Looks great, and honestly when you factor in the cost of new cushions, covers, hog rings etc... seems like the best option.

bumping this ole thread.

i have oem 2006 mustang seats and love the support/firmness they have. i've been eyeing these Toms seats but can't help to think that they won't be as comfortable or supportive as oem mustang seats.

in my mind oem will always be better. am i off in thinking my oem mustang seats are better?

Having an issue with the passenger seat bracket. I can’t bolt the back of the bracket on both side to the floor because of the nut that attached the sliders to the bracket are not allowing enough clearance for the bracket to sit flush. https://flic.kr/p/2oBFcQr

I just added a couple washers between the seat track and floor and it fit ok.

I think the brackets might be on wrong. I had no problem with mine there are support legs on them to raise them up.

Unfortunately, you can't see the underside because of the carpet. but it looks like you might be using the wrong nut or need a lower-profile one.

I just looked at mine. That nut does stick down but mine cleared. Do you have an extra washer under that nut on the bracket? Picture looks like there are 2 washers. And is it snuggled down? Doesn’t look like you need much. Maybe try mounting the rear of the bracket first. I remember having h to install the mounting bolts on mine in a certain order to get them to line up and fit correctly. BGB has the best idea with a shorter nut.

Looks like the end of the BOLT is resting on floor.
Thinner nut, and/or no washer may not help.
Can you flip the bolt, so nut is inside the seat track?

That’s my question too. Is this a stud that is permanently mounted and you can only use a nut? Or if it’s a nut and bolt, can you turn it around?

My seats are in the box, so just watching this, but yeah, my uneducated guess would be that doesn't look right.

Here is a picture from Tom’s website. Unless your floor pans/seat area is bent or tweaked a little I would say it’s the wrong bolt/nut or brackets are not right either wrong bracket or just not on correct. I know I put mine on wrong the first time. Think I had the brackets on wrong side.

Yeah I think it’s right. Instructions say not to but the nut in the track but I think it will clear. Will try flipping it around. Should work..

Thanks. This matches my set up. Brackets can’t get mixed on the passages side but obviously it’s not working. I’m going to reverse the Allen head and nut. Nut should clear in the slider channel. I think 🤪

I mean the nut.

It’s keeping the bracket from touching the Not supposed to do that.

Response from toms bronco parts.

“Thanks for supplying the photos. After speaking with another tech and looking at my seats on my Bronco, this is normal. Once tightened down, the bracket will draw tight to the floor. The nut will in fact make contact with the floor. We tried to keep the brackets as low profile as possible, and sometimes the clearances are overly tight, just like what you are experiencing. It should not cause any "ill effect" however. “

Mine were like that as well. I elected not to use the washer under the nut in those two places but can’t remember if I had to grind the bolt down or not to keep any threads from protruding.
It’s snug but not distorting or denting the floor in any way.

Just installed mine yesterday to pre-paint tub for test fitting. As TBP says, just put in the bolt and nut in the rear of the bracket and tighten it down snug. The bracket gives a bit allowing the bracket to bolt flat to the bed. The rail nut hits the floor but no problem since the bracket bolt snugs bracket down flat to the floor.
