Brake switch wires are towards the the dash and the switch should straddle the push rod when finally assembled

Couldn't you just check the switch for continuity with a volt meter? I would also think you could jumper across the connector to check the rest of the circuit.

Brian

I didn't have brake lights after my booster install. I had to change out the spring on the brake switch for a softer spring of the same diameter that I picked up at home depot. Actually that spring was a little to soft and the brake lights would come on from bumps on the road and parking on a hill so I over-streched them and put um back in and now they work fine.

This is just if your brake lights aren't coming on when you slightly depress the pedal. I did have break lights when I had it to the floor.

Get a brake switch for a '76 because springs are softer. Pretty much if it's old, it's probably worn out, so get a new one because they are only about $10.
