haha... there are always "clicks" ya know

I have come to the conclusion that there is a "Bronco Inner Circle" that I have not been invited to join yet lol. It seems there is a core set of knowledge that is unique to the Bronco. And all of the inner circle want to keep the circle secret. this site must be a real sore spot to them as well. the moderators and owners of the site had probably better be on the lookout for hit squads and knuckle busters.

having come from building mustangs I must say that I have really struggled so far with this Bronco. there is so much knowledge that is, I guess, assumed. you buy a part and the instructions that come with it are extremely vague and maybe only address a small part of what you need to know to use that part. they keep it that way so non "Bronco People" can't get it to work. I am convinced it is actually a conspiracy. thankfully the people of this forum must be rebels and are working to spread some of that secret knowledge, but first you have to know what questions to ask. it is like a quest.

Anyone else out there notice how many steps and instructions are "assumed," the guys writing the instructions assume you already know how to do it, and if you don't then you are not part of the circle and must be shunned. jk, kind of lol

Back in the day you needed to "Know" someone who knew or had done what you were planning to do... Like the Guy who could tune a Holley Carb...

And I've always thought that ClassicBroncos IS the inner circle!? ;D

As far as instructions go, have you tried following the instructions on anything made in China?

This^^^^^. I converted my 74 to disc brakes back in the early 90s. Had to have bushings custom made and brakes lines that left a lot to be desired, those are just the ones I still remember. Not to mention any other upgrades I tried to cobble together. Now days get on line and order the parts, then if you have questions log on here and your done. I would still have hair if the internet would have been around sooner. ....

... The schools of hard knox. .Yes BACK when I had my parts store. I had my 1980 Bronco & I packed my front hubs. ThenI helped a tech from the GMC house . He packed his JIMMY /GMC . AlmostAblazer . I don't remember his issues .. But He used my shop . & I had old pieces left form my Bronco Pack. & He was working on his Jimmy .. & Was needing new stuff.. SO after some comparison . we decided these thang are the same.
.. Then Ford DID NOT JUST SELL the outer stud shaft . While GMC did. sO WE began the mix & match game .
... When I got my 72 Bronc & one of the 1st thing I wanted to do was pack my bearings .. Yes Just to se if it was the same .
.. Man did the net make it easier to find the NEWS.

Yes there is an inner circle which equates to a bunch of sicko’s. They are the ones who are highly obsessed with their Broncos and have been involved with Broncos for years so that they do in fact Know It All. ;D

Good thing they hover on this site so the rest of us can glean some knowledge from them haha! So if your new parts come with poor instructions come here and research it...you’ll likely get the info you need. It’s funny, but I usually keep my smart phone or a tablet in the garage while I’m working, so I can look things up as I go. It’s amazing now how much info is at our fingertips.

The problem lies in the writing of instructions/lesson plans, which is, in general, the same thing, just a shorter version. To write proper instructions it takes a bunch of training/classes. Peer reviews.

The one saying we always use in lesson plan development is "write it as though you are writing for a five year old". That way it's darn near impossible to go wrong.
I've run into the same thing for years with the How To in the auto part world.
