Rock slider engineering makes a step slider that is a rock slider with built in power step. Ther are about $300 more than the regular power steps we have seen.

Hi Craig,

These aren't technically nerf bars IMO but I like them and want a set.

Those are the ones we have on the '71.

Not only are they well made; but, the company is great to deal with.

Take Care,

Jeff

These definitely look like a possibility --- anyone have a set?

That is a crazy price, there is not more than 70 bucks worth of material there. But you probably can't get a pair made locally for much less. I am liking the White Knuckle Off Road model, those look sharp. I want to make a pair that attach to frame, but to me they just don't look right unless the rockers are cut off. I have the skills to make a pair, but the body work involved in removing the rockers, not sure on that one.

I might could make some. We are mostly set up for it. I'm just not sure how I would mount it to the frame. What size tubing would be wanted for the main bar and the step? The step part could also be made out of chain links welded together.

My worry is legal problems down the road. "Ambulance chasers etc."

This one could probably be easily made. I wouldn't mind doing it cheaply. I could ship it bare steel for you to paint or have powdercoated.

I would be interested in a set that would bolt to frame! Just add a a disclaimer off road part. I like the looks of those

I would say 1.750 dom for the main bar and 1" for the step part.
I have put 2" and 1.75" up to the side of mine and the smaller looks better on mine.

I'm interested too! Short wife needs a step and I don't care for the old school 3" nerf bars.

I made a couple of prototypes. One with a 3" gap and one with a 4" gap between the step and main bar. I think the 4" is a lot better of a step but some may argue that it is to far out. I figured ya'll would want a STEP not a rock slider or a pretty (useless) step for looks.

The main bar is 1-3/4" x .120 Wall Dom. The step in the pictures is just some cheap black pipe I am testing bends with, The real step will be made of 1" x .095 Wall Dom.

The step itself is 7 3/4" long. The main bar is 1" past on each side of the rocker.

I have an idea to where it will mount straight to the frame (no brackets on the body.) I am going to try to make it to where the brackets will not have to be welded and no holes drilled in the frame.

Tell me what you guys think. Opinions needed. I am going to the steel yard on monday to get the stuff for the brackets and something for some "grip" on the step. I am going to send a set to another member to test out, as my bronco is in pieces.

The first two pictures apply to both bars. The nest six are for the 3" bar and the last six are for the 4" bar.
These are next to a Bronco with no body or suspension lift. The measurments are from the floor.
