Or “How to Make Your bronco Heater” Work

Welp, lot’s of folks seem to not have gotten the memo about pulling that center knob out in order to get air flowing through their heaters and otherwise making their heaters actually put out heat. The result has spawn a whole enterprise of heater motor upgrades, auxiliary heater modifications, and “my heater doesn’t put out any hot air” threads.

So I thought a little memo sheet was in order. This is modified from the owner’s manual description. Note the added comments under the asterisks. Enjoy! Better yet, print it out and stick it in your glove box, especially in any Bronco you sell in the future! Ha!

back in the early 90's I drove cross country 8000 miles with the bronco did not know the "pull for heat" was there, trip was in late March early April hit snow storms in AZ, Montana Colorado 10-20 degree temp in Yellowstone when I got to my final destination I started to trouble shoot and saw the "pull for heat" in about the first 5 minutes , wife still does not let me forget that.

I rebuilt everything before the trip too, but forgot how it worked..probably from all the fumes inside the bronco from a poor routed exhaust..

So that's how that works. Ahah. Just kidding.

Good write up. It's amazing how many people don't read the knobs on their dash.

I must be one of those people, lol!!!
But at least I read this forum:)
Havent had to run the heater much down here but good to know
