At least it puts off having to do yard work for a little longer, it's like someone flipped the grow switch on here on the West coast.

I took it in for an oil change last week and they let me know something was leaking - in the general area of the rear main, the hydraulic sway bar disconnect and the front diff. All had indications of recent oil accumulation. I sprayed 2 cans of Gunk engine degreaser to clean it off and then drove it a bit. Fresh oil was on the bottom of the front diff but I really couldn't say for sure that was the source. Today I put it up on the lift and removed the skid plates for a better look. It then became obvious it was coming from the pinion seal on the front diff. I'm hoping my extended warranty from Granger covers this!

I guess from those 3 possibilities, the pinion seal is the least expensive and easiest fix. It took most of a quart of gear oil to fill up the diff.

Good news is the seal will be replaced under the Ford Drive Train warranty! (5 years, 60K miles)

Can't get it done until May 19th however. I'll need to check it and add fluid before our Moab trip May 8-13.

I popped the head off a bolt holding on the front skid plate as I was checking bolts underneath the Bronco. Removing the skid plate completely allowed access to easily back out the broken bolt. While the skid plate was off I decided to paint the scratches in it. I had rubbed it more than I realized. But that's what its for! So I painted it silver. I had a new can of silver (actually flat aluminum) so I used it. It actually gives it a subtle Raptor look! LOL
