This was supposed to be the first week of scheduling after weeks of no scheduling.....

.....announced early yesterday morning, no scheduling this week
.....announced early this morning, more weeks of MAP shutdown ahead in the next couple of months
....50% of hardtops produced are being rejected
....close to 5000 broncos with bad hard tops sitting, built and waiting for new hard tops

What an absolute disaster. I stopped at my dealer yesterday, that's 100 miles away while on business. Confirmed that my order had not been converted to a 99, was told to expect my 10:22pm first night reservation sometime in 2022, and that my dealer has had zero orders pulled to build as of yet, and several of them are First Editions. Not even sure what to say or think at this point.

They're done. Ford needs to cancel MY21 and start planning everything all over again for next year.

Hate to hear that for you. It's going to be sweet when you do finally get it.

I will keep my two 1973 Broncos. I love them. As for the new Bronco, i cancelled my order and have my deposit back. I am hoping that another manufacturer builds a better truck that is similar to the Bronco in size and capability. If that happens, I will but that truck. Ford could not have messed up this launch any worse than it has. They had an unbelievable opportunity to gain new customers, retain old ones, and put their brand at the front of the pack. They missed on all marks. What a shame.

I know Ford screwed this up bad....and a lot of blame can be put on them but also a lot is to be blamed on Covid. The lack of parts, workers etc has played a large part in this cluster.

The wife and I finally picked our color after discussing it for months, she won the fight. Anyway I plan on placing my order in the coming weeks. I'll get it when I get and smile ear to ear when I do.

I'm not getting rid of any of my early broncos. The 2021 is extremely capable, they hit a home run with the bronco itself and it's nearly identical in size to our early bronco. The rest of the story needs to be forgotten and never spoken of again lol. Ford blew it.

The majority of the delay, almost 100% of the cluster is Webasto, the company making the hard tops. They're not producing the numbers they said, and 50% of the ones produced are terrible, pure trash. Chip shortage is not an issue with the broncos.

I think I heard them say they no longer use Webasto, not sure who they are using now. Maybe they will be more reliable!

It’s a lot of Webcrappos fault but there’s other major problems.
There are thousands of soft top 4 doors that failed QC and are sitting the lot along with the MIC tops.

Wow. It was only a short while ago I read a story about Ford throwing a crap ton of money at Webasto to try and get their production up to snuff. Webasto is a large German-owned company that's got (had) a good track record in building specialty tops..wonder what's gone wrong here??

This is from an article that came out last month.

The reasons for Webasto’s struggles are somewhat complicated and multiple in nature. Part of the problem lies in the fact that much of the company’s tooling and testing equipment resides in Northern Italy and Wuhan, China, both places that were hit incredibly hard by COVID-19. On top of that, Webasto is struggling to find enough workers to make hardtops, which Ford is helping with as well, reportedly sending “many” hourly and salaried employees of its own to the top maker’s Michigan plant.

I believe Ford went in sometime ago and "took over" in some capacity but it's still a cluster. Whether true or not, it's been reported that Webasto management, etc has been lacking for a long time. Long enough that Ford should have known they were a huge risk when offering them the contract for the tops.

Ford has a big problem getting chips too, despite Levine saying no bronco would be delayed by chip shortage.

That's been confirmed to be a F150 and other full size issue. There are thousands of them sitting on the build lots. Supposedly they're going to go ahead and ship them to dealers, and let the dealers install them when they become available. Not sure if that's a good idea or not.

Not good. I learned decades ago, the less a dealer touches your new vehicle, the better. In the end, one particular dealer learned that too!;D

JK 2Dr VS 66-77 Bronco

Why did Jeep sell 1,387,438 Wranglers from 2007-2018 in the US?

Obviously when you take the original Bronco dimensions and capitalize on the best off road size there is known to man, you sell a ton of them.

What people cannot get over is brand loyalty...even though that brand will never be at your bedside if you are sick. Brand loyalty with cars is just a bit silly.

Drive your old Bronco to the local Jeep Dealer and test drive a JL 2dr turbo and when it returns 26-29 on the highway, still has the same off road capability and out performs the old Bronco in every aspect on the street, the only aspect you have to get over is your emotions.

The blue oval never came to the hospital when my kids were sick, even though I only bought Fords. There's no return loyalty. Go drive and buy what makes you happy.

Build mine, put a soft top on it, ship it.

When (if) the hardtop clusterfuck is sorted out, send a hardtop.

Are the Bronco tops being made by the same supplier as the Jeep tops? If yes, why are the Jeep tops passing QC?
