Very descriptive thread.

Ultimately you’re not going to stop someone that really wants to steal your Bronco. But a battery and fuel shut off switch would deter the lazy thieves.

I merged the duplicate threads. @micon please post some more info so it's clear what you're specifically asking about. More info = better answers

If I was gonna steal a Bronco, I would back up to it with a dove tail trailer and winch it on the trailer and drive off.

No way to stop that.

I turn my fuel selector switch to off when I park it, then if someone on the very rare chance knows how to hot wire started it, they would break down about 1 mile down the road and abandon it is my bet.

I forgot multiple time to turn the fuel back on and it would start to die on me and I would remember, LOL.

Anyone using AirTags? I’m planning to buy a bunch of them for my trucks and mustangs. Knowing where my junk is will help me “recover” it peacefully or otherwise.

Of course the issue with Airtags, is that if the thief has an Iphone it will notify him that he is being tracked. It will also beep the airtag so he can find it so he is not tracked. I was looking at this this summer when my family and i went on a vacation and took our mountain bikes with us. The coolest and most creative solution i found for that was this:

https://us.muc-off.com/products/tubeless-tag-holder

A valve stem that held the airtag inside the tire. Which would make it very difficult to hear and almost impossible to find.

If you plan to use an airtag you would need to be creative like that, or the thief will just throw the airtag out quickly.

That’s slick. I may need to get one of those for my Mtn bike too!

I was in the military with a guy from New York. His neighbor had a custom Chevelle that was really nice. He had a cardboard sunshade in the windshield. It read, "No radio. No Speakers. NOTHING OF VALUE INSIDE."
The guy had a logging chain around the axle attached to a big oak tree.
He awoke one morning to a broken window, the logging chain cut, the car was turned the opposite direction, and they wrote "Just Checking" on the sunshade.

I've heard these have been effective on newer cars, but with how simply wired the Bronco's are I'd guess they wouldn't be as hard to defeat https://www.ravelco.com/
I made mine so complicated that sometimes I have to look at my notes (prob a good theft deterrent as is, but...

Also, while it isn't perfect, the product from Digital Guard Dawg is fantastic. It's connected to the cellular network, has a battery inside the transmitter that lasts a while. It alerts me the second it moves and follows and stores the trail as it went.

You can see I went one way on the freeway then back on the road. This was earlier this week.

Address clearly not accurate as I was on the freeway, but gps location is spot on.

It stores all this data and keeps it. Here is my map data from a good number of months, including when I trailered it to the WH Roundup earlier this year.

I can click any of those points or see any of the data.

Nice, although I wonder if that was a translation issue where they say to cut your oil...

I think you'd want to cut your fuel, not your oil.

Let us know how it goes.
