Are you sure yours was the extended version of the hose? You might measure it before you throw it away. Just to be sure.
If you’re running out of hose with 2 1/2 inches of lift, you should definitely be looking at all of your other items as well.
I’m guessing you have extended parking brake cables too, otherwise they would’ve probably been the limiting factor before the brake hose.
What about driveshaft u-joint angles?
Shock length biased for extension vs compression? Dune jumping will definitely put those to the test.

Speaking of dune jumping… That does indicate a potential need for limit straps at some point.
Not an absolute requirement, but not something to overlook if you plan to play around in the dunes again.
So bringing this thread back up again, I finally got the opportunity to change out my rear brake hose. I ordered a new extended hoses from WH and they were only about an inch and a half maybe 2 in longer than the hoses which I had installed before, also WH hoses about 20 years old.
I'm now thinking that my old e-brake cables were my limiting straps and prevented the hose from getting torn before, but now that I have extended e-brake cables I can get more downward extension on the rear axle.
I guess it's time to get the old high lift out and see how long limiting straps I would need to install to prevent future torn hoses.

The stock parking brake cables are definitely the travel limiters on any bronco lifted over 2 1/2 inches. Certainly at 3 1/2 inches, the cables tap out early before anything else.
Seen it many times and have hung a wheel in the air resting on those old robust factory cables.

I guess I should add too, that sometimes the shocks are still the limiting factor. Just depends on which shocks you put on.

My understanding WH makes there brake hoses in house. sSo if the premade extended line lenght is not what you want you can have one made longer if need be..
