finally dropped my tranny and the part number on the side is D5OP-7006-AA. I would like to know what year and what car it came out of...I thought it was out of a 75 maverick but I don't know for sure. From what I understand I have a broken parking pawl. Now for the least amount of money should I just get an overhaul kit and do it myself. Which I've done work on skytrak and lull forklifts replacing seals and axles and wet brakes. Or should I just by a used tranny. this one I have now leaks and will not shift into 3rd until it's warm

Shoot a PM to jbbronc. He owns a tranny shop and is a wizard/addict. He's on just about every day.

1975 vintage tranny supposedly out of a torino but really it shouldnt matter. Get you a overhual kit if you get a used tranny you will still need to tear it down to install the bronco outputshaft and you may as well freshen it up while its apart.

That's a '75 or later (up to '81) pan fill C4. It did not come from a maverick. Probably stock Bronco trans. As for the year, look at the numbers in the circles below the D5OP number. First circle is day, second is month and year. The original application can be found if it still has the tag attached to it under one of the servo bolts.

You won't find a rebuilt one for anywhere near what you could rebuild it for.
