transmission identification help needed

just dropped the pan and the markings on the valve body are RF-D2AP-7A101-AA and under that it says lester-1. There is also a small tag F5 4. I might put another c4 in it but wanted to know what year and vehicle this came out of and if other c4 are interchangeable

That casting number is for the valve body only, I would assume they probably came on more than just one vehicle. It is for a C4 though. Not sure if that was any help

The "D2" portion of the part number would indicate that the cast was made in 72.

The D2AP lower valve body was used from '72 until the late '70's on every C4. The only way to ID the original trans application is from the tag attached to the servo cover.

I dropped the tranfer case today I'll drop the tranny mon or tues and I'll check for that tag. BTW Viperwolf if you just took a pic of your tranny and it's that clean you may need professional help

I took that pic after I put it together but before I installed it. It's probably not quite that clean anymore.
