I am replacing my NP 435 with a NP 435. Can I restore the tunnel to the original sheet metal configuration as long as I install a 1'' lift for clearance ? Also the original sheet metal support channel was cut out of the way to fit the NP 435. Does that channel go up and over the hump in the tunnel and actually connect in the middle ?

Yes, you are correct. The body support channel runs from one side of the body to the other up and over the hump. It's all supposed to be one piece and continuous. I know because I cut mine out to install my NP435. Good luck!

I don't think 1" body lift will be enough to clear the 435. It will clear better but I believe the front part of the tunnle will still need a rather large hole to clear the shifter tower. The shifter tower just clears the heater box without a body lift.

If you mean the NV3550, yes, you can replace the channel. The hole for the tranny is past the channel...you can look at pics from installs and get a pretty good approximation of its location. It does make for a nice install in a Bronco. Good luck.

If I would have paid atttention to the title (and not bouncing off all kinds of different projects while surfing) I probably would have caught that as well, instead of just reading the post.
