they have those at my local true value hardware store. I believe the correct name of the part is a cage nut.

BC Has them

If their $4.99 price is for the set of three, they would be cheaper than my local Ace Hardware. I found them locally but they were $2.99 each plus I had to drive 15 miles across town to get to the one store that carried them. I believe suckerpunched is correct that they are called cage nuts.

Just a fair warning, the ones I found locally are like any "reproduction" part and don't work nearly as well as the factory stuff. Just snapping them into place did not hold them in place securely enough to tighten the bolts into them. Tightening up the column bracket bolts would just spin them out of the square holes. I had to modify and bend the little mounting tabs on them in order for them to grip the firewall tight enough to allow me to torque down the column bracket bolts.

Might I suggest running a thread cleaner or tap through what you have and reuse the old part? Thats my plan, mine are gummed up beyond belief with raptorliner, but cleaned up with a thread chaser.

I want to use these "Cage Nuts" for the adjustable hood stops... Like from this picture on a 68 Bronco

This will clean up the install, rather than having two washers and lock nuts... Or a round peg in a square hole.

Fastenal has them, just not locally... Yeah Justin, that specialty hardware at Ace really nickles and dimes you sometimes... Doug

If you have a Tractor Supply locally I would check there too. I've had good luck finding random hardware there.
