Searching around tech sites for this issue I may have a theory developing. For those that are having this problem please post with your answers to the following questions:

1. Is this just on the home page and gallery pages?
2. Is this just with Internet Explorer?
3. Is your error worded ""Explorer cannot open ClassicBroncos.com Operation Aborted"

1. Just the home page. Unable to get to any gallery pages. I get an error box first and when that clears, it goes from the CB home page to an error page.

2. Yes - IE is all I have.

3. Yes for the box that opens. Then it goes to a generic error page within IE.

Is this just a guess or do you have more info on it? If you have a specific reason to think this (and better yet, fit it) please let me know.

This is one of those frustrating problems that members complain about from time to time, but since I can't reproduce the problem it's really hard for me to track down.

Can someone post a screen shot of the error page they get? Also, is it just on the main page http://classicbroncos.com or on other pages also? And are you using the WWW (ie. www.classicbroncos.com or just classicbroncos.com)

What I have found is that when CB is unavailable, your Name servers ns1.upperdomain.com and ns2.upperdomain.com do not respond to pings.

In fact as of this moment, ns2.upperdomain.com is not responding.

The reason only some people are unable to view the website is their ISP's DNS servers refresh the DNS records at different times based on the TTL. So different people will be affected at different times based on when the A record expires on their ISP's DNS server. IF your Name servers are not responding, then the ISP cannot update the A record.

connection problems

I could not connect to classic broncos.com or transfer to the gallery by the link.

I think the error message read ""Explorer cannot open ClassicBroncos.com Operation Aborted" but I can not verify that because it all seems to work just fine now.

I was getting the "Explorer cannot open Classic Broncos .com Operation Aborted" error with both www.classicbroncos.com and classicbroncos.com. But everything worked fine with Firefox. You'd think DNS issues would give all browsers problems not just IE.

yep worked every time with firefox

Yes to all three for me too. It was happening this morning to me. I had to get here from an email alert notifying me of a PM in by inbox.

Are you talking about this other thread? http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123251

If so that's a different error and different issue. I thought that was a one time problem. Are you still getting that error feitctaj?

OK, I've made a few changes. Everyone please post back to let me know if you still get this error. If you do please try holding the "shift" key down while clicking on the "refresh" button in Internet Explorer. This will be sure you're not just looking at the old version of the page stored on your computer.
