My stock alternator is working fine. A different thread advised upping to a High Output 3G (90/130 from WH) since I’m replacing the harness. Is that necessary? I’m carbed, running the stock fan, but installing an ARB on board air compressor. Please opine.

The dual ARB draws 60 amps on it's own. Didn't mention if it's a single or a twin but it's amazing how quickly we need more ampacity as we add "stuff" that we didn't dream of or need back in the '60's when EB's came out. I mean an AM radio drew maybe 4 amps??? lol Now our stereo's draw a couple hundred hundred amps. Electric cooling fans that draw 60amps???

Anyway, I'd definitely upgrade to the 90 anyway. Bump to the 130 if it's not double the cost. I'm looking at bumping to a 200amp as a Warn winch at full draw can pull 500amps according to the boys at Warn when I called.

all my oem dash switches are back in use, headlight switch and ignition switch particularly would never work right from vendors.
Any time I need an electrical item, I look it up in my old Standard Ignition catalog then go to eBay to find n NOS part.

90A in my '96 FSB seemed pretty marginal, but lots more electrical loads than an EB is going to have. If you're planning on EFI, a big stereo, a winch or other large consumers of power then I'd follow @nvrstuk 's advice. With some research I found an OEM bolt-on 130A for my application.
