I just checked my 84 lbs rearend as luggage. Totally thought they would say no, but they didn't. Looks like they searched it. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall.

My carryon had the pinion guard and that caused a bunch of confused looks.

Can't beat that! My buddy and I just checked three coolers full of elk meat. Way cheaper than overnighting them across the country that's for sure. We had about 20-25lbs left so I bought a soft sided cooler bag from Wal-mart and stuffed it full for my carry on item. Of course we got pulled in security to inspect, but once I showed them what it was, he had no problem. They did question the roll of duct tape and trash bags I had in there too... Stuff cost too much to throw away and we forgot to put it in one of our checked bags! He let us through with it though.
The coolers were duct taped shut. When we got them from the luggage belt they looked a bit like they had been drug down the runway for a few 100yds but were at least still intact! lol

That extra 1/2" is what made it a weapon. 1/2" shorter and it's just a tool. Could say that about a lot of things.....

~30 years ago checking in to fly back from Cabo San Lucas they stopped me because of my Navy Electrician's Knife. Traveling with my best friend's mom. The Federale gave it to her to keep for the duration of the flight! I so wanted to know the story behind the exquisite scrimshaw grips on his 1911, but didn't dare ask.

What is a Navy Electricians Knife? I was a Seabee back in the day.

Certainly not, considering that Overnight shipping would cost you 250 and probably three days total!?

So i wonder what happens these days when you hide chalk in a bag of cocaine???

Yeah they didn't even notice the cocaine. They were too focused on the tools. Lol

Hah. I did the same with a King Salmon. For some reason I felt like I was smuggling the fish through TSA. I don't know why I felt that way but was worried about getting “caught” haha.
