Tubing Front Clip Questions

Dusty, yours was the first one I saw and I instantly knew I wanted to do something like it (BTW I'm also borrowing your battery relocation idea and I based my rock slider design one yours ;D)

FYI my primary reasons for replacing the front clip are radiator, tranny cooler, power steering cooler placement and air flow. I plan on sticking with 1" .120 tubing vs the Engine Cage.

I know power steering coolers are unusual, so I give my reasons here before I'm asked :). First, HEAT KILLS! I'll be running a high end power steering pump that will be used for Hydro Assist (ram) Steering and Hydro Assist Brakes. Adding a cooler to the return line will be cheap insurance for all the parts involved.

I have a couple of pictures of mine in my gallery. I installed a tilt fiberglass front end. Using roll bar tubing just made it work better. I would like to fab some removeable inner fenderwells. But, I haven't decided on the best way to do that yet. I just stay away from water and mud for now.

I am trying to decide on a tilt front clip myself. I saw tha pic, but it didn't give me much to go on. How is it to access everything when fully up?
As far as removeable inner fenders, I will also have some on mine to keep the wet stuff at bay. I had the idea of doing aluminum panels held in place with dzus fasteners. I do have a cage that is still needing to be finished, as does the rest of the truck.
For those interested, I cut out the firewall where the fresh air intake was and made a spot for the battery and some other things. They are protected from wheel debris (something to be considered when removing the inner fenders) and are easy to get to. Look in my gallery if you are interested. It can be done to handle 2 batteries if you need to.

The tilt front doesn't look like it goes up that far (a picture in my Gallery). But with no inner fender wells you can slid in there when you have to work on it. You can actually get to the engine easier than when it had the regular front end. I have a body lift and moved my bumpers up by welding square tubing on top of the frame. Then I attached the bumpers to a smaller piece of square tubing. Now the bumper is removable like a receiver hitch. When I remove the bumper the hood comes up several inches more. My battery is in the back, behind the rear seat. It is in a sealed box. I have thought about taking some vinyl and installing snaps to make a removable inner fenderwell. I would only need it for rain and maybe snow. For now I just drive my other Bronco when I think I will get dirty.
