Extremebronco: Check your flasher unit. It's a separate one from the emergency flasher unit. You can (I think) swap them to make sure. If they work with the other flasher swapped in, you're in business. Just buy a new flasher relay.
If they still don't work, you need to verify power to one side of the connector at the relay. If there's power there, you will need to check the circuit from there to the turn signal switch.
Just for giggles, turn on the 4-way flashers, and flip the turn signal switch to the left and the right. When you do this, do any of the flashers stop on that side? I'm not sure if that's the way it works because it looks like the flasher bypasses the signal switch to each corner, but I'm not sure.
Anyone else know if that works that way?
23firefly: You will need to find out why the power is not getting to the flasher unit efficiently. Is there a full 12v at the fuse on both sides? If so, then the wire is bad somewhere between there and the flasher since the flasher unit is between the fuse and the turn-signal switch.
The right side of the fuse is power in, the left side is power out to the flasher via the Orange w/yellow wire. Btw, how bright are your backup lamps and how well does your wiper washer work? They're all on the same fuse. The fuse above this one shares the same power input from the key (Black w/green stripe) so if it's before the fuse, your heater motor probably won't spin very fast either.
Good luck.
