I am brand new to this forum and am in the process of buying a 74 bronco. It is an automatic with a 302 engine. When I went to go look at it I noticed there was an ignition on the dash and another keyhole on the actual steering column. Does anyone know what this is for?

I have a '74 with an 80-91 Bronco tilt column in it. Starts with the ignition switch on the column. Ignition switch on the dash is still there but not functional.

Someone put a later column in the one you're looking at.

Not trying to be a smartass, but did you ask the seller about it??? Seems to be the most obvious place I would check. Get it straight 'from the horses mouth'!!!!

Welcome to the best website for early Broncos! If you buy it, make sure and post up some pics (and check out how to become a contributor). Good luck!

Just another thought...could it have been the old shifter nub left behind on the column (floor shifter installed), and not a ignition switch at all.
