You make some great points. For now we are planning on keeping leafs in the rear. No double shocks, just some good quality ones. I was thinking about trying to use coilovers in the front and some flexy leafs in the rear. New wiring harness with some digital gauges. We don't have the bronco yet and I was looking at some fiberglass tubs but unless I can get one of the companies to donate a tub we will have to stay steel and just replace rusted out parts. Does anyone make an aluminum tub?

I wish they made aluminum tubs, I would have to build another if they did.

Uncut all original 66 Roadster, Like GasPigs. I would give $50 a ticket for that.;D
Hey thanks Revelation and Hartbronco for the props!

But honestly if you could find a good U13 project you could do a nice good looking reasonable build, just a long if you didn't get all crazy like I did! I'm sure you can get some guys to donate or sell reasonable the hard to find 66 parts. When all said and done you'll giving a piece of Bronco history not just some slap together truck. There would be some real long time value in the prize! Then I sure you would draw a lot more people into the raffle.

Thanks just my 2 cents, Jeff

Okay I scrapped the idea behind the rust bucket I was originaly going with. I have looked at 40+ broncos in the last two weeks and have found one that we will get started on.
20223.jpg

Its a 74 with a 351 a small james duff lift and very little rust.

Looks great - keep the chrome headlight rings, window trim and drip rail trim (that drip rail trim is pretty rare). If you keep it steel I vote for replacing the flares with metal flares like seen here...oh and shave the side reflectors while you're at it.

Where do I find metal flares? That looks good.

For the front you can just use new aftermarket fenders (no change needed). For the rear, folks use remnants from front fenders that were cut for flares. You can find them here for cheap since most guys who cut their fenders will just give these up. You'd have to weld them on and blend them in - shouldn't be too hard as it looks like you've got some great experience here. Here's a link to a thread where this was done. I think you have to swap sides (so the cut out from the drivers front becomes the flare for the passenger rear and visa versa)...

We pulled the hood, doors, hard top, fenders, seats and roll bar off today. We also found an old pair of underwear under the hood. You never know what you are going to find. Oh and $0.26.

So far for donations we are receiving: a rear bumper from Logans Metal Works (I also run their bumper on my Cherokee, and its awsome)
A 203 and a 205 transfer case to build a doubler from Canon Truck our local yard
Tuffy Security console and security glovebox
Crawlertech has donated crane dana 44 knuckles and diff cover (if we stay with the front 44)
Custom Paint Job and paint
and we have a lot more in the works. Not bad for our first week.
