I just found out by talking to someone that knows early bronco’s a lot better than I that while my title says it’s a ’66 the body is from a ’69 or ’70. The vin # on the glove box door does not match the one on the title. I didn’t know that until today.

VIN tag is not in the glovebox on a 66'. It's is on the drivers side under the emergency brake pedal. 66' is the only year like this.

If the frame VIN matches the title
I'd just lose the glovebox door

Or lose the title

Depends on the state
In my state you don't need a title if the vehicle is older than 25 years

All you need is a bill of sale that has the correct sellers name

They will visually inspect the VIN run it thru the stolen computer and also verify the current owners name
If that all checks out. You get a license plate and registration But no title . It's a weird setup but makes it easy

My bronco has the same issue except I have three conflicting VINs and the state is gonna fix it for me. Check out the thread "Rebuilt Title". Maybe your state can do something similar with this one?
