I'm keeping mine in primer, with old school undercoating on the primer. I'd hate to try to remove textured bed liner from body metal, so will use it sparingly in the rear bed
Believe it or not just a healthy dose of WD40, repeated over a series of days and some cheap plastic scrapers. Use plenty of plastic tarp underneath and just keep soaking it. When you get to the end you may need to use some non-scratching scotch pads with the WD40 in kind of a wet sanding. When it was all done, I hit it with the degreasing soap (purple or green).
Thank you, I cleaned it up similar to others. Scotch Brite wire brush etc. Had to clean up a couple of small patches from PO and a bronco shop that had it before him.
The only reason for the black or primer is the satin finish. The underside will get oil and abrasion and other marks. The satin/primer finish will hide this better and control everyone's OCD that would feel the need to break out the turtle wax on the underside....
those broncos look great. I have the body off for the restoration, and seeing the body color underneath some of your guys broncos makes them look real clean. I think that is they route im taking. I appreciate all the pics.
i matched the undercarriage with the exterior but had the under "rhino lined" essentially. this keeps it from chipping and sprays off nice. I focused more on that as you can see the texture when up close, from a distance you cannot tell at all.
