Looks like I need to make a trip to the local pnp, is there a particular vehicle that is better then others or anything with a under the hood fuse block will work?

I would look for something that has a bracket that can be repurposed, and has the circuits and relay spaces you need. Consideration should be given to battery or ign hot, as well as amperage. The explorer and f series trucks look likegood choices. The explorer fuse panel has a buss, and the LH and RH circuits can be split. I thought about installing a 75 Amp relay on one side so the block would have batt on one side, and Ign on the other.

Where can a guy find APX and APR blades? I searched the web but could not find them.

Any parts store, WM, Amazon... There are several "standard" abbreviations for each size of blade fuse, but those are the easiest for me to remember (X=MAXI; R=Regular).
