Should i just get a universal wire harness? About the only thing that will be factory will be the keyed ignition on dash, headlights, taillights, brake switch, etc.

Engine controls, dash switches, electric fuel pump, fan, etc will all be aftermarket. Appreciate any input.

That's the route I will go when I get around to it. Just a little more involved and auto wiring understanding is a must. As long as you keep it simple it should be just as good as any other big money harness. Just my opinion though.

That's what I did. It was called "itsasnap". They quit making their harness when the price of scrap metal and copper and everything went up so fast.

excellent quality, excellent insulation which is usually where companies cheap out because the average Joe doesn't look into the type of insulation on the wire, they just look and see if it has "blinker" printed on the wire every 6 inches or not. ;).

There's some good stuff out there just do some searching.

It's not hard to convert the steering column blinker stuff over either.

Mine was 110 bucks when Painless was over &450

I did it. Used a universal Painless kit. Found them on sale years ago. They take time to install but work out good.

I am a big fan of the AAW harness I installed 3 years ago. They have great customer service and the harness has many of same benefits of the Painless.
