VIN build date

I have seen the VIN spread for 1969 as D82000 - F63999 on several sites.

I am fairly certain that my 1969 was built in May/June of 1969 based on the castings and some of the date codes on the wiper/heater motors.

My VIN build date is F71685 which is entirely outside of the spread for 1969. Anyone else have a VIN outside of the norm?

The VIN range for '69 is D82000-G29999.

The VIN range for '69 is D82000-G29999.

That makes more sense since the same sites have 1970 starting at G30000.
