Welp seems I was actually a tooth off. Fires right up and runs great. Idles for crap and wants to die once in a while but I took it around the block and it felt great. Couldn't go fast - no shocks, no hood latch.... the list goes on. So I need to get it buttoned up so I can drive it a bit and see what happens to my idle.

Funny thing, well not so funny. Got 1/2 block from my house and it died. No fuel pressure so I play for a bit and the damn pump is toast AGAIN. Its an MSD pump and the first one went the first time I fired the engine up, then summit replaced it, this one worked alot till today then died, so its going back. Had an E2000 here and put that on but it won't draw from my tank so luckily a few minutes before close I made it to autozone for a low pressure pump to put in the back. Seems to be doing the trick just gotta wire it up a little more permanent ;)

Sorry John didn't get the 9 pulled I got side tracked when Barry got here. Will get it this weekend for sure. Will call in the am.

PS and I am kicking myself in the butt for not realizing this last weekend about being off a tooth.
I know it's a bit late now if it doesn't pick fuel up right away I ground the pump at the diagnostic connector so it stays on and open the gas cap and blow into the tank. Works like a charm. I just put EFI on a rig over this last weekend and had to do that to get it to prime.

It wasn't a pickup problem. thats the second one that crapped out on me. They sucked fine for a lot of in garage diagnosis. then it just stopped sucking. I am gonna test that MSD pump with a cup of water and see if it sucks at all or if something is toast. If it does then I will put it back on and see if it works now that I have a low pressure pump too. If it does I will carry it as a spare.

My problem is the pump is on the fender under the hood and thats a lot of tubing to suck through. Not to mention the pickup for the tank comes out the top so gravity is against it the whole way.

I will report what the status is but the setup now is running great. Won't get a chance to play till this weekend I don't imagine.

I've never tried it with the pump up under the hood. My pump is on the frame under the drivers seat and the one I just finished we put the pump on the crossmember in front of the tank. I've also never run the MSD pump. We've always used either the E2000 or the F250 ones.

Who actually makes that MSD pump? Is a Walbro pump just rebadged to an MSD? Im going to be running a Walbro, they seem to have a good reputation.

Welp I finally got code 67 fixed so I could run the KOER test. Coming back with 41 and 91. After some searching I think my problem could be the lack of HEGO ground on the injector harness. I never noticed it was missing before now.

So tomorrow am I will fix this issue and see what happens.

I think I may still have a small vacuum leak somewhere. I get a wierd whistleing noise, been there forever though it was the PS pump, sounds like a squeel. Took the pump out of the equation and I still have the noise. Its the loudest to the rear of the engine I think when I stick my head in there. Could it be a vacuum leak or something else? Its like a whistle, comes and goes. Its predictably there when I hit the throttle then let off I can hear it as it dissipates.

I just always assumed it was running rich from the smell and that it makes my eyes burn. When I come in I smell like gas, but maybe thats just someother chemical smell from it running lean?
