What do you think a 1975 bronco is worth?

Trying to buy a early bronco (1975) off of a family member but try to get a value of what they are going for, this one is a green with white cap, 302 motor w/ 78k original miles auto trans, everything is stock and fenders are not cut. Here’s the catch it’s been in storage for 15 years and never been started, I started it up last summer but now it won’t run, it has many electrical issues, wires were smoking, starter is going bad, ignition cobbed up to a button start, nothing electrical works properly. It’s sat with bad gas for all that time so probably the lines are bad and the tanks smell horrid with crap fuel. Brakes at the moment don’t work and all the lines to everything are all leaking including oil & Tranny pan. The bronco itself is in beautiful condition and the interior is perfect. I know certain Broncos bring crazy money, idk what do you think it’ll be worth he bought it for 13k around 15 years ago

If the body is really good give him his money back. Your going to spend another 3 grand getting it running ans safe again. If it has rust and flinstone floors give him half his money back. If he knows what he has he will want more. Without seeing it we cant tell you how much it is really worth. You dont get much in a 13K Bronco these days. 15 years ago 13 K for a bronco better be a really nice Bronco. RUST DOESN'T SLEEP just because you put the Bronco to bed for 15 years.

From what you describe, I’ll give you $15k sight unseen. Running it’s worth double. If you had it running a year ago and have any mechanical skills, you know it won’t take much to get it going again. Obviously you are trying to get The “ good family discount”, so it’s more of a matter between you and the seller rather then what it’s worth. I’m betting somebody would pay far more then you are hoping to get it for. We need more info to answer your question. Are they looking for going rate or make you a good deal?

Sweet '66 half-cab sold at Mecum today for $18k
Straight, clean, good stance, looked mostly sorted and probably ran without smoking wires. Or at least that's the assumption.

That $18k would be a very good price if it was all there and ran like it looked. I did not look at any details online, just the show on TV. Might be some caveats, might just be what it's worth.
Yours is a known low-mileage? Because it's in a friend's family and you know it's history? Mine has 75k showing on the clock too, but I know it's 175k actual.
But low mileage means nothing when it's been buggered up like it sounds. Messed with electrical system, sat for years, all that low mileage value goes out the window with an engine rebuild unless you get lucky and it does not leak. But it sounds like you're already well past all the fluid seal's "best by" dates.
Rubber fuel lines, gear box seals, tires? What about paint?
You said the body is great, but does that include paint? Interior is good, but how good? No work needed there at all?

Must have been pretty sweet for it to go for 13 grand that long ago, as Rusty said. Almost nobody was paying that much back then.
Other than the fact that prices are all over the place still (mostly high, but not always) the price ranges the others gave you were probably right on the money.
I'd put it at slightly lower than them from what you say, but I've seen worse Broncos go for more because someone else was always waiting in the wings hoping to snag the next big thing.

Is your friend going to put it out there if you don't come up with a certain minimum?

Its hard to speculate without knowing the body condition. Is it Sport, Ranger or base. Any rust anywhere? But in my opinion in todays market a v8 auto Bronco uncut with a rustfree body would bring 20k, and probably more very quickly. The brake fuel issues are relatively cheap to fix.

No argument with everything already said. Because it is not running and a bit of a "mess" you should be able to score a discount. The good part is that you didn't mention any "deal breakers" that you cannot sort-out on your own (or with a little guidance). In my opinion one of the best parts of playing with Broncos is their "simplicity". My daily-driver is a complete mystery beyond changing the oil. I can however spend hours explaining how my Bronco works (or doesn't). ;D

The paint condition is near perfect on the bronco, the door jams have very little to no rust, interior is gorgeous I’d say it’s also near perfect besides broken radio/speakers, and the labels for the dash controls worn not being able to tell what does what, the 78k miles on it are true and the motor was not rebuilt the odometer is true. This bronco is a ranger model also

Solid 75 ranger....better snag it up!!!
Offer him $15K (he would make $2K on his investment)....get her fixed up and running and you'll have a good truck for a very fair price these days......

Pay the fee to become a contributor and then you will be able to post pictures. Once we see it we will be able to give a better recommendation on value. The more pics the better.

Ditto on what 77br0nc said. If it is a ranger and has little to no rust. 15 K would be a good deal. Other stuff as stated above is an easy fix. Good luck! Send some pics!

Ranger just added $5K
If the paint is decent with stripes intact, you are looking at big $$. The more you tell us, the higher the price......

Here’s a screenshot of the latest valuation from Hagerty. From your description of the Bronco, it sounds like it could possibly fit into the “good” category with some effort. More than likely, something above “fair”. It’s difficult to say without pictures and a good inspection.

You can't reliably give him hagerty price guide to go by. Way too many variables and most don't go for anywhere near that .

That’s why I said it’s difficult to say without pictures and a good inspection. It may, or may not, be one of the “most”.

Few more.
I’m only posting these pics for Cstahl knowing that he will be acquiring this incredible bronco and will become a contributor. Or he has agreed to send me the sellers info
PS. He did say that he recently found out that it was repainted in early 2000. Waiting to hear if it was original color and trim. My guess is yes.
