What thread sealer to use.

SO I've got a new fuel pump / lift pump since Mine is a diesel .
I'm going to Remove my electric pump & go back to a manual diaphragm style pump. The electric I've decided make more noise that the Exhaust of my 4BT.
I CAN DROP 1/2 THE NOISE.
... IT'S I suppose aluminum body . & I've got 2 new yellow Brass. fittings going from 1/4 pipe to 3/8 hose barbed push on & worm gear tight .
.... SO Have we decided there is a new proper sealer to put on the fittings into the brass pump . I'm sure I'll use white tape Teflon .. If you don't convince me there's a new girl in town.

X2 any teflon paste is the right product. I've chased a lot of issues with teflon tape strings in places it doesn't fit. Your case its not terrible since the lift pump is before the fuel filter but, so use it if its what you've got but paste is the way to go.

Little bit of thread sealant tech..... The job of the sealant is only partially to seal/fill tiny imperfections in the threads, but that's not the most important part of its job, the biggest job it does is lubricate the threads as they are tightened to allow the metal to conform to the mating surfaces in the threads without galling. Galling is usually the cause of leaks, it creates tears in the mating surfaces. The threads have a taper, the taper is what provides the true seal, the thread sealant just aids in filling any small imperfections, which is why it works on the water pump bolts on SBF engines.

Around the house, I use Blue Monster. Use it once and you'll wonder why you waited so long to do so.

We do production assembly of pipe and fittings. In our business leaks can have catastrophic liability, this is what we exclusively use, we haven't had a leak in over 5 million parts since I started tracking it.

after we got it installed. Amazing the battery was dead. Really it's been good for 3 years .
But really never an issue .

Cummins, Cat, Allison, John Deere, Volvo Penta, Eaton, Freightliner, Spartan chassis etc dealer and this all we use for thread sealant. Have many friends in the diesel industry and they only use the same.
