I tried to keep my center of gravity real low when I went to 40's and tons. I pushed my tank back and built a new rear crossmember. I also pushed my front as far forward as my 4x4x2 box would allow and ended up with 98" wb. 1-ton build thread in my signature. I'm still working on making the lower lift (1-1/2" lift) work. I might go up to 3-1/2" after a couple more runs.

CL post deleted....yours? Is this an upcoming project on another Bronco? Luber on 40's........

I spoke to the guy this morning and he had a few local people interested so it wasn't worth making the drive up.

Monster Mike has a LUBR on 42's ;D

Sweet, another build thread to dive into :). With struts I should be able to dial in my ride height. I still have a lot learn so I'll continue to read and ask questions.

This is what I’ve come up with so far. Most of the prices are a guestimate at this point so the total could be a little more or a little less.

Dana 60 $1000
Dana 60 35 spline outers $400
Dana 60 ARB $1000
Dana 60 R&P $400
14 Bolt $200
14 Bolt shave kit $270 Ballistic
14 Bolt truss combo $305 Artec
14 Bolt disc brake brackets $50 RuffStuff
14 Bolt ARB $1000
14 Bolt R&P $400
14 Bolt rotors/calipers $200
ORI STX struts $2640

Totals $7865 plus the 3 and 4 link parts.

For that kind of money, guess I don't understand why more don't go with mogs. Grab a deal like these.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/axles-tires-wheels-sale/1107001-404-unimog-axles.html

Keep the rear diff as is. Get a custom 9 front housing, stock 31 spline pig (with 3.5 gear), 31 spline ARB, and custom inners, your right about that 8 grand.

With 40's, you have the ground clearance of someone on 50's.
Even more if you compare mog 9ish size diff that has a factory shaved housing bottom, compared to 60 or 14 bolt.

I am in the middle of building a low crawler on 44s... I had the tires and wheels...

Anyway- I have picked up a lot of my parts at discounted prices either new in box or lightly used, but pre-owned. I linked a bunch of different crawler builds in my build thread... About half way down the page you will find a few links...

I plan to shop around for parts so I will probably save some cash on a few things.
