I see the polls as to what you use it for, I see asking about spending, but I pose the real question. When is it no longer a Bronco?

Tubed frame
Boat tailed
Narrowed grille
wide axles
NP this 205 that
stretched
trailrig
trailer rig
most of the time I start to wonder, are these really still a "Bronco"

An old carpenter was heard saying "I've had this same hammer for 40 years - it's had 3 new handles and two new heads." IMO they're still broncos until you stop calling them broncos. ;D

Perfect example Broncoloupy! How do you consider that a Bronco? No offense of course, but that is a "race" truck? Crawler.
t.lay, when changing the handle the carpenter put the hammer back to original..

I get your point, but nascar teams call their cars fords and chebbies and I doubt there's a single common part with a production car. Perhaps on a technical front - when the original serial numbers are no longer present??? Everybody's got their preferences - to a purist - a cut fender would be a terrible thing. To somebody who started with an EB and turned it into a rock buggy - it's still his EB and always will be.

So say you do a few if not all of the above mods. What are you proposing TO call it?
A Jeep?

They are sweet rig's, and would love to have something similar some day, but those are Buggies plain and simple. I;m sure this is one of those questions that everyone has a point and opinion on I have my own on this subject as well. To me they start to not become broncos when there is more added then there is Bronco left. Cutting a frame up so you retain a piece and hang skins on it is not a Bronco, you just built a racer, or buggy Etc... But of coarse that is just my opinion. Same can apply to other things like NASCAR, would you try and pass that off as a Fusion because it's skinned like one? Thats a taste of my opinion, Still cool to see them though,

In the spirit of your question-look closely, I see bronco fenders, bronco grille, bronco door inserts, at least part of a stock bronco frame, and under the hood if I remember correclty there is a 302 cubic inch sefi engine........I would call that rig one of the closest to a bronco a comp. rock crawler could get!!!!!!

When are we going to see some updated pics on your high end bronco build?

Those would be Nascars with a Chevy/Ford body work. Just like a Rock Buggy is a Rock Buggy (as most call it,right) with Bronco/Jeep body work...

When someone who sees it and says..."hey man, I like your jeep". Then you wave, say thanks and drive away knowing its a bronco and take the compliment about him liking your truck anyway.

Its always a Bronco. I think the grill is the most important and the use of no or very little Chevy parts. If someone says "nice Jeep" I say, "Thanks but its not a Jeep, its a BRONCO!!" No exceptions.

If you can tell pretty easily it's a bronco just by looking at it (assumes you know what a stocker looks like to begin with).

For me it is anything that makes my arm automatically raise up and wave. I see the grill or the tailgate and imediately know it's a Bronco. Most of us have done something so if the stocker, uncut, unmodified is all the qualifies as a bronco then we are all in the wrong place. I'm getting ready to cut my 73 and make a 1 seater Crawler out of it. It will be as much Bronco as possible but will have a lot of tube, doubler, 4 linked. and a 102 inch wheelbase, but still a Bronco.:)

Ford expected them to go offroad - "all purpose four wheel drive vehicles" '70 brochure. ;D

I get that quite often, I always correct them. I think people that don't know what it is just assume it's a jeep, more as a vehicle type not a brand. The original jeep was a general purpose vehicle. That is what I consider the bronco to be also.

My Bronco Buggy project is 98% EB but has no EB body on it.The only Chevy parts are the disc swap and the Howell EFI.It is a full frame tube buggy @ 104 in WB with a lengthened EB frame. It is still a Bronco

I consider it still a bronco as long as I use the same frame and body, sure cut up the body add some stuff to the frame but so long as it still has the heart and soul of a bronco I think its still a bronco.
