My '68 Bronco is at a shop, and he says in addition to syncros it needs a 2nd gear. He says not going to be easy to find because it's so old. What do you guys say?

It is probably easier and cheaper to find a whole transmission than the gears to repair one.

There originally was a tag on the tranny Identifying a rat or ran stamped on it identifying which transmission you have. Not all Bronco 3 speeds are the same. You will probably need to know the gear tooth counts if someone is just digging through a bin. Maybe a picture would help. Then post in our classifieds on this site or start calling. I usually call Randy at Driven when shopping for used parts. He's been a great used parts supplier for me. But all of our vendors usually come through in a pinch.

I can't imagine there not being more than a few of the 3-speed transmissions laying around in plenty of EB owner's scrap piles...can't hardly give the things away. Post a wanted ad and I imagine you'll have more parts than you know what to do with given the generosity of many folks here.

When I sell my D20, I'll probably include the 3-speed for free.
