I was adjusting my Duffs 3 speed floor unit and the dang spring clip sprang off. Cant find it on the driveway or on the internet.... anyone wanna clue me in on a specific part name or number? They are listed just as "Spring clips" on Duff's instructions and that doesn't get me far.... thanks all!

Look for a hurst rebuild kit. Comes with bushings and clips. Summit has em. Locally pep boys was able to get em but it was a while back. I think hurst calls it a pit pack. Post your location. Another member may have some laying around. I know I have spares.

Not that it's worth the price for one clip, but I have one of these $35 HF magnetic sweeps that I bought for picking up nails where we park on construction sites. An unplanned but pleasent side use is finding those little lost parts (my brother the auto shop teacher calls anything that jumps out & runs away "little green men" ;D).

Having one on hand can be real time saver. Hearing it click when it picks up the lost part is a sweet sound. They have a $12 version, but it doesn't have the release to let go of what it picks up. The $12 tool is probably good for finding lost parts, but not so much for cleanup duty. They also have a wider $40 version, but the width was awkward to keep from high centering on the dirt jobsite. Kinda like offroading with a long wheelbase. ;D When someone got off with that wide one I bought the narrower replacement.

$35

I have one of those, and definitely deployed it yesterday to no avail... But certainly worth mentioning!

Did you ask Duffs to sell you one?

I didnt.... Im sure they would help out, its more that the weather is very nice today and getting this shifter back together is keeping me from sunday driving enjoyment ;)

For the record, since I am a crazy person, I went nuts looking for them and found a few sources...

As mentioned above, they come in a "pit pack" kit from Hurst that is on amazon. There is also another version from hurst with different material bushings. There is ALSO a mr gasket kit that has nylon bushings and the clips. All of these are in the 15-20 dollar range and can be found at O'Reilly, Napa, and Advance. The only place I could find the clips alone was Autometaldirect.com (part w-697).

I see that has been mentioned already
