Just thought I would bring this up again since the old thread was archived and its been a while. Just wanted to see if we've found any more late, late '77's. So if you have a Vin# later than Fish1 below then post it. So far he has the oldest. Should start with U15GLZXXXXX and lat three digits higher than 703

U15GLZ00703 - Fish1
U15GLZ00647 - BlackCat4
U15GLZ00621 - Volnut
U15GLZ00215 - Stout22
U15GLZ00194 - Broncology
U15GLZ00120 - was on Ebay in 2008
U15GLZ00092 - Moaiz

Do we know how far into summer the '77s were built?

Mine was built on June 22 (VIN U15GLY88151), but it sounds like it's a senior by comparison, as the VINs went to Z000 shortly afterward.

I'm guessing that retooling for the '78s was a bigger ordeal than previous years, since the whole thing was new from scratch. Would they have shut the line down sometime in late July or early August?

Never thought to look before. Z00621.

Looks like that puts you in the next-to-the-top spot there volnut. Not too shabby.
Just checked out a '77 yesterday, but it was a June build and in the "V" section still. Looked like a V anyway.

Yes, Marti auto works should be able to do a custom search and tell you the last VIN. He won't tell you the owner but maybe the dealer shipped to. Not sure of the cost or time required.
