I would have done the same....cut him some slack that is.....

Ford did manufacture GPW's from 1941-45 to the tune of 280,000 or so. Ole Henry demanded that all the GPW's produced in his plants be marked with "FORD" stamps to identify his vs. the others. He felt he was putting out a superior product.....

Tim

Ive seen those things and kinda like them anyone on here have one?

That same day at the gas station a guy in lets say a 92 clapped out explorer pulled in with a 6 inch lift and stock wheels and tires, and almost ran over the pumps ruber necking. Maybe it was the wrong thing to do but I avoided eye contact with him and went about my buisness

One word: "Two car garage"

One word: "3 car garage" Except I just sold it after 17 years to fund the engine in the Bronco so I guess you could say I did trade a 911 for a Bronco! I lowered it when I moved to LA, but when I bought it in AZ and it had the stock suspension, I used to take it on the trails with my friends that had trucks. They couldn't believe it. Torsion bar suspension was great. Now that I'm back in AZ, I needed a proper vehicle. A 911 won the Paris to Dakar by only raising the stock suspension (rotating the torsion bars) and putting bigger tires on it.

We've got a lot in common, AZ. My ownership is about 18 yrs or so. I wondered what my car would look like with those wheels. Now I know...Yeah, I do have a 3 car but the EB has taken the lion's share of it the past few yrs. Bay 1: Parts, new/old. Bay 2: Chassis. Bay 3: Body tub. Had to boot everything else out for awhile and banished it all to offsite storage. Just starting to get some real estate back.

Im off tomorrow, was going to work on my bronco all day but I may just drive it around instead I think shes happy to be back out on the road

Baja, when we can say this, I'm going to be very happy! For this month both my wife's and my DD are parked in the driveway. Chassis in the Porsche garage, and the 2 car garage is now a paint booth, at least for the primer stage. I've shot many cars in my time, but this will be a first using HVLP and if I don't like the way the underside looks, it's going to a professional for the rest of the body.

No doubt. It's been so long since I've driven my EB, that when I just had a Superbowl party, and some of my friends didn't even know I had one.

The last 2 people that said anything to me about my Bronco were only concerned about the "worth" of the Bronco. "What is that thing worth?" "What do those things go for?" "Those things are expensive now." One guy also needed to tell me that an early Bronco was his brothers dream car...like I needed to know that.

His brother sounds cool. It's my dream car too. 😬

Yeah the last person that ask me if it was for sale, then informed me that these broncos are all either junk or people are asking way too much for them.... I didn't say a word but I was thinking to myself well that leaves two options for you then if you really want one either pony up and buy a nice one or buy that junk one and spend more to fix it up then the nice ones are selling for....

The average person has no idea how much it costs to fix up one of these rigs. Hell, any old car/truck for that matter.......I never give anyone numbers on my Bronco or Mach 1 when ask. I just say "money pit" and I have way too much in them to sell.

I dream someday it will start again! ;D

You're closer than me! That paint job is SWEET! And you have an engine in already. I'm not even getting mine for another 6 weeks.

The answer is simple: If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

It looks really nice. My Bronco sat for 2 years when my motor blew...because I bought a house about a month after it blew....so I know what it is like to be Broncoless. BUT, at least you already own one...because you know the old adage..."It must suck not to own a Bronco". ;D
