Why hasn't someone made a replica factory front brench seat?

I've been looking everywhere for a front bench seat, and unless I wanted to pay $1000 for one (if I could even find one), I'm out of luck. So I know they are in high demand, why hasn't someone built a replica frame?

Front benches pop up in the "parts for sale" section every few months or so. They do tend to go quickly. I got mine from the "parts" section several years back.

While they are in demand, there are other options out there such as the ranger front bench.

Greyhound is the cheapest way to ship one that I've found.......you have to deliver it to and pick it up from a bus depot......

I think you're misinterpreting low availability for high demand. I'm pretty sure the demand is actually pretty low, which is why nobody is making one. And besides, have you seen the price of seats lately? You think someone's going to make a front bench for potentially only a few people and still charge less than $1000 for it? Maybe, but I doubt it.

Are there any discussions here about a Ranger seat install Timmy? Any year fit, or just certain ones?
At least some Rangers are still in the junkyards. Not sure how many came with benches though, vs the likely more popular buckets.

Just 'cause I say they're not in enough demand doesn't mean someone's not working on it. If they've seen what you've seen, maybe they can make some money off of it.
Have you checked with the Scott Drake's and the Dennis Carpenters and the LMC Trucks yet?

Good luck.

Good read on how one was done......There are others but no specific "here's all you need to know" thread.

Between buying the seat, shipping, repairs, recovering I have about 1K in my front bench.

A falcon seat is essentially the same and there may have been more of them to find but once you did, you'd have to go through all the same steps in the restoration/ money spending process and you'd still probably end up near $1,000. To me, the Ranger bench is kind of a different animal altogether because if you are going for the look and feel of an original Bronco bench, obviously, they are not really in the same category. I always thought if I was going to go modern, I would use BMW 325ic convertible seats. They are small, comfortable, available in manual adjustment, and the convertibles would have a built in shoulder strap. To me, for the look and feel, if you're shopping for a bronco bench, you're not really in the market for a Mordern looking highback. Cool mod, probably more practical but...

Like DirtDonk said - availability and demand are two different things.
If someone started making one I bet a $1000 price tag would be hanging on it.

Look how expensive the frames are for the single seats and the demand isn't huge. IMHO pay the $300-700 and then recover in new vinyl.

X3

As long as the only thing rarer than someone who wants one is someone selling one the price will be high.
