I haven't been on the road in about 10 years. I changed axles, then finally installed a 4 link, decided to change engine/trans combo. Right now i need accessories , some wire harnesses, etc. I also decided to supercharge the new motor with a 3.0 whipple.

I've been paying insurance and registration for over a year because i thought I'd be driving last year. I'm pretty excited to get back on the road myself.

It took me 17 years to get my Baja back on(& off) the road - Yes life got in the way a lot & then I picked up a 66 & got that on the road first. Just keep making forward progress & you'll get it back on(or off) the road & you start to forget the long hours it took to get you there.

Not being sarcastic but you may never drive it. I know folks like you that just like to work on stuff. They start a project. Then when getting close to what looks like a finishing point, they add something to it. It goes on and on like that. Working and adding working and adding.

^ i've seen this too with a couple of my friends.

1) works on his boat all the time. its a beautiful Grady White with all the fixins to make a charter jealous. I think he went out 1-2 times this year and it wasn't to fish!
2) built BMW track car with probably $40k+ invested in suspension and track mods. Still naturally aspirated V8 with a 9200redline. zero track days in the last 2 years and just keeps modding to make it more track ready?
3) owns an arsenal of modded guns and really only shoots 2-3 of them.

Some folks just like modding and it brings them great joy. With something like a classic car that somewhat needs a resto, its hard to stop and/or decide to forego a piece/mod that will be harder to tackle once buttoned up. I fall into that category all the time. I've tried to compartmentalize my mods/resto so i can at least have the bronco on the road 6 months out of the year.

After owning this bronco 20yrs and only driving it about 800miles i think I'm realizing my problem of taking stuff apart and never finishing is getting ridiculous. So at 52 I've decided to put a nice motor with power/reliability in and sell off other cars and make the bronco reliable and able to hardcore off road is the goal.Life is passing by and im missing out so i really need to finish. Im considering taking it to wfo in sac or mps rides in chico to put dana 60 front rear with streched whhelbase together. If i don't pay for that stuff I need to be realistic, i don't have time/skill to finish that. Motor install and wiring yes, lowering ride height with 40's and streching wheelbase no. I can dream all i want i have to just suck it up and pay and be do e so i can use it before i get too old!!

Haha, all of this ^^^^

Yes, I love tinkering as well and am somewhat of a perfectionist.

I do plan to be done finally though. I will drive soon.

My last time driving was 10 minutes from my house at Hollister Hills. That was 2015 pretty sad it's been sitting 8-9 yrs. Having an old bronco is zero fun when it's sat so long. Comments good or bad are fun to read. I'm just convincing myself 35k for a can am x3 that's ready to go isn't as good as something i can drive on road and take my dog.

Also any input on exhaust from anybody who has done coyote swap. Go with 2k dollar headers or the nice looking logs from Toms Bronco/ stockish modified mustang 5.0 looking headers from BC Broncos?

Why not have both...I've had my 75 since 1996, added suspension, gears and lockers, wheeled for 2 years, built a hot motor/painted/redone the suspension to accommodate 38's...wheeled like that till the mid 2000's when I got tired of breaking dana 44 parts, bought 60's, sold the built factory axles and it's been on jack stands ever since...been working on my dad's 69 half cab since covid, doing a frame/suspension/drivetrain rebuild...bought a rzr xp4 and rode it for 3 years, then upgraded in 22 to a turbo S and as far as off road trail riding goes a bronco will never come close to the speed/comfort a sxs offers.
