Wiring brake switch without stock blinker switch?

I am installing brake lights on my crawler and have used the 4wheeljunky harness. I do not have a bronco steering column and have installed a dual toggle switch on the dash for blinkers. Without having a stock blinker switch, how should I wire the brake switch? My running lights and blinkers currently work.

I thought about running a line from the brake switch to both sides of the blinker toggle, but then I couldn't brake and blink at the same time. Does the stock switch have a diode to allow one side to brake and the other to blink without back feeding to the brake switch?

My turn switch toggle has 4 posts - ground, power in, left switch, right switch.

It won't be easy. A normal turn signal switch is complex in function. You could probably use a combination of relays and a DTDP turn switch but it will be a mess. An easier way would be to use the reverse light socket for the brake bulbs along with an early lens.

If you had a pair of SPDT or DPDT toggles it would be easier. Single switch with a center off makes life a lot harder.

But a friend added turn signals with a single switch to a side by side. He ended up using a tail light convertor for combining brake and turn signals when you tow a trailer. Another $40 in parts but he made it work. Left/off/Right feeds the turn inputs, brake also. Out comes brake and turn combined for left and right.

I am going to check on this tail light converter option. $40 isn't a whole lot compared to more lights or multiple relays and hours of figuring out.

Another option I thought of after Viperwolf suggested using the back up light is to run two separate lights. I don't have the stock rear lights and am using led lights in he bumper. I could run two lights on each corner- one for blink function and one for brake function. They could share the tail light function.

Thanks for the help and options.
